IRS e-file

Nearly every federal and state individual and partnership income tax return WK prepares is filed electronically to the Internal Revenue Service through a secure service called e-file.

IRS e-file is an accurate and safe way to get your income tax refund back to you in half the time of a paper return.

If your federal income tax return was filed electronically through e-file, you can find when you might expect to receive your refund from the IRS by using the Where’s My Refund tool on the IRS website or the IRS2Go phone app.

You can start checking on the status of your return 24 hours after the IRS accepts your return (see the IRS e-file acceptance confirmation e-mail or postcard). To use the Where’s My Refund tool or IRS2Go app, you will need to provide your Social Security Number, filing status and exact whole dollar amount of your refund.

For more information about IRS e-file, contact one of our offices or download one of these informational brochures from the IRS.
