Five questions with…Ashley Ackfeld, CPA

1. What is your role at WK?

I primarily work on financial statement audits and reviews for the firm’s agribusiness, employee benefit plan, and banking clients. As an auditor, I continually work with varying types of clients, different personalities and changing work atmospheres, which always keeps my job interesting and challenging. I am a member of the firm’s recruiting and career advancement teams. I enjoy working with our newer staff on training and mentoring through the earlier stages of their career – that’s where they build a foundation!

2. What is your favorite movie? Give a line from the most memorable scene.

Cinderella: A dream is a wish your heart makes.

3. What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

I grew up at Table Rock Lake, and my favorite part of the summer was getting on the boat and heading out to the cliffs for a little cliff jumping! I still get to do it about once a year!

4. Where did you attend college, and what was the best part of your college experience?

I attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. Go Mules and Jennies! The best part of my college experience was joining a professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. We aimed at getting the Brothers ready for the real business world and participated in intramurals, philanthropy, professional conferences, social events, and homecoming. I made some of my closest, long-lasting friendships through DSP.

5. What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My Dad always taught me that the most important thing you can do to be a good leader is to have genuine empathy for others and be invested in watching your team members succeed. [/ezcol_2third_end]
