Clients can continue to call both offices during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. As the COVID-19 crisis continues to affect the world and work its way to our communities, we are working diligently in an ever-changing environment to create safe and effective ways to help our people and our clients during this unprecedented time.
Daily Operations Made Easier By Technology
At this time, our offices remain open. In accordance with suggestions from health professionals, we have encouraged the firm’s member owners (partners) and associates to take advantage of the firm’s extensive technology resources and work from home, if possible. We are assessing scheduled client meetings and visits to client offices individually and will make appropriate suggestions to most effectively address these events via phone or by other appropriate technology resources. Additionally, our clients can share documents with the firm using WK’s secure website-based portal. If we can provide information about this resource for you, please contact us.
Potential Tax Deadline Changes
With the March 15 business tax deadline passing today, our Tax Department’s focus shifts to the April 15 individual tax deadline. Based on information received from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and other reliable sources, we believe the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) may extend the April 15 deadline later this week. We will share information about a revised deadline and its effect on our work with clients as the information becomes available.
In our offices, we have heightened our cleaning and disinfecting procedures, particularly in high-traffic and public areas, to maintain a healthy environment for our people, our clients and other guests. As a matter of routine practice, we encourage any member owner or associate who experiences flu-like or other unusual health symptoms to stay home and self-monitor their condition in accordance with guidelines established by their primary healthcare provider.
As always, our team is here to help you. Our commitment to help navigate our clients through a complex financial world has never been more important. We are here to answer any questions you may have as you and/or your business works through this time of uncertainty. Additional information about the steps we are taking in response to COVID-19 will be provided by email and on our website, as needed. Thank you for continuing to put your trust in us, and please contact me if I can answer additional questions for you.
